2015 Frank Packer Plate Betting Tips

April 17th, 2015

The opening Group race on the All Aged Stakes Day card in Sydney on the weekend sees the three-year-olds face off in the Frank Packer Plate 2015, and our exclusive betting tips on the race have the favourite Hi World rated special to win.

Peter Moody prepares the in-form High Chaparral colt who is down to jump from the second widest barrier (nine) in the 10-horse field for this year’s $150,000 Group 3 Frank Packer Plate (2000m).

The bookies at Ladbrokes.com.au have Hi World at $3.10 to win this weekend and take his record for the autumn out to a first-up second followed by three wins on the trot.

The known mudlark has a gun record on Heavy going (2-2-0-0) including his last start victory in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 6, which looks the form line to follow for the weekend again.

Hi World ($3.10)

Some punters might be after an upset tip in the Frank Packer but we can’t give it with the favourite looking too hard to beat. He is over 2000m for the first time, however the majority of his rivals are in the same boat but without his gun lead-up form. Thrives on a mud track so any extra rain will only see him firm further in the markets. Carbine Club win was strong and out to do it again here with Kerrin McEvoy aboard again, Hi World boasting the race’s best Win (50%) and Place (83%) rates.

Farolitos ($4.60)

We’re tipping a repeat of the Carbine Club Stakes quinella with John O’Shea’s runner-up in that to finish second best behind Hi World again. His hoop in the Carbine James McDonald instead rides stablemate Goulidan, a $16 value bet, on Saturday with Hugh Bowman coming in for the replacement. Wet track no worries and has an impressive 75% Place Rate so hard to go past for second or third at worst.

Another Al ($21)

A host of livewire chances for the minor placing but think the value lies in Gai Waterhouse’s last start Gosford winner Another Al who did it over 2100m so is proven over the distance. That’s a big advantage in a field of milers testing the water distance-wise this weekend. Sharp rise in class but deserves his shot at an autumn carnival Group win.

Now is the ideal time to discover the benefits of betting online through Ladbrokes.com.au who are offering first time depositing players up to $250 in bonus bets with use of the code BETBONUS, plus Best Tote or SP + 20% on the two Randwick Group 1s this weekend!
